Hair transplant prices published in Austin, by graft band
On their own sites, 3 Austin clinics publish hair transplant prices. For each row, only the clinic's lowest price counts, and each clinic is counted once. The same clinic may appear in more than one row.
| What the clinic prices | Clinics | Median | Middle of the range |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price per graft | 1 | $4.50 | $4.50 |
| Package of up to 1,500 grafts | 1 | $5,000 | $5,000 |
| Package, graft count not stated | 2 | $4,500 | $4,000–$5,000 |
We captured each clinic's prices from its own pages as the clinic writes them. They were converted to US dollars using European Central Bank reference rates from November 3, 2026. “Middle of the range” includes the middle half of the clinics. If fewer than four publish, it covers the full range. A package may include hotel and transfers, and the profile uses each clinic's own wording. ECB rates.

Which methods are offered, and how many clinics here offer each?
| Method | Clinics | How grafts are taken | Donor area afterwards |
|---|---|---|---|
| FUE | 10 | A small round punch takes one follicular unit at a time | Small dot scars are spread over the donor area, with no linear scar. |
| Sapphire FUE | 1 | A clinic's own name for FUE using sapphire-tipped blades to make recipient cuts | As FUE |
| DHI | 0 | A clinic's own name for FUE using an implanter pen to place grafts | As FUE |
| FUT | 10 | Under a microscope, a removed strip of scalp is divided into units | There is one linear scar, which is usually hidden by hair above it. |
| Robotic | 3 | FUE with a robot-guided punch | As FUE |
Crusts usually clear by day 7–10 after FUE, which leaves no linear donor scar (Front Med 2026 review). Across 820 advanced FUE cases, scalp harvest averaged 2,956 grafts per case (Chouhan 2019). Only clinics whose own sites name the method are included in these counts.
Published cases by Norwood stage and graft count
Grading male hair loss, the Norwood scale starts at I (none) and ends at VII (only a band of hair at the back and sides). Surgeons used these graft counts in two published series. They do not provide a quote for your scalp.
| Norwood stage | Grafts used | Men |
|---|---|---|
| II | 500–1,000 | 15 |
| III | 1,000–1,800 | 63 |
| IV | 1,500–3,300 | 67 |
| V | 1,500–4,000 | 13 |
In Wang et al., BMC Surgery 2024, table 2, the source covers 158 men treated with FUE.
| Stage V–VII, area covered | Average grafts | Men |
|---|---|---|
| Front only | 2,982 | 308 |
| Front and mid-scalp | 4,164 | 352 |
| Crown only | 2,770 | 24 |
| Full coverage | 6,237 | 100 |
Source: 820 men at stage V–VII, Chouhan et al., J Cutan Aesthet Surg 2019, table 2.
The stage on its own does not set the number. One study assigned Norwood 3V to two men who needed 3,900 and 6,150 grafts after their bald areas were measured (Pittella et al., 2024). Before anyone measures your scalp, any quote is only a guess.
Settle these five points before booking
- Find out who handles each step, including incisions, graft removal and placement. After collecting the names, check each one through your state medical board, or check every state at once on DocInfo.
- Request a written plan that lists the graft count, zones and price for that count.
- Ask the clinic to show you its own patients at 12 months, under the same light and angle. Results appear at six to nine months for most people, while some see them at 12 (AAD).
- Find out what happens with poor growth, including whether a second session is included and how long that offer lasts.
- Include the full first year in the price: the procedure, travel, medicine, follow-up visits and time off work.
