Louisville hair transplant prices published by graft band
On their own sites, 2 Louisville clinics publish a hair transplant price. Each row counts a clinic once using its lowest price for that row. The same clinic may appear in several rows.
| What the clinic prices | Clinics | Median | Middle of the range |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price per graft | 1 | $4.50 | $4.50 |
| Package, graft count not stated | 1 | $4,400 | $4,400 |
We captured each clinic’s own wording and prices from its pages, converting them to US dollars at European Central Bank reference rates for November 3, 2026. “Middle of the range” covers the middle half of the clinics. If fewer than four publish a price, it covers the full range. A package may cover a hotel and transfers. Each clinic profile uses its own wording. ECB rates.
Use the cost calculator to find the published price range for your graft count in United States.

Methods offered and local clinic counts
| Method | Clinics | How grafts are taken | Donor area afterwards |
|---|---|---|---|
| FUE | 6 | Single follicular units removed one at a time using a small round punch | Small dot scars across the donor area, with no linear scar |
| Sapphire FUE | 0 | The clinic’s name for FUE using sapphire-tipped blades to make recipient cuts | As FUE |
| DHI | 0 | The clinic’s name for FUE using an implanter pen to place grafts | As FUE |
| FUT | 4 | Scalp tissue removed in a strip, then cut into units under a microscope | A single linear scar, usually covered by hair above it |
| Robotic | 0 | FUE with a robot-guided punch | As FUE |
FUE leaves no linear scar in the donor area, and crusts usually clear within 7–10 days (Front Med 2026 review). Scalp harvests averaged 2,956 grafts per case among 820 advanced FUE cases (Chouhan 2019). These counts include only local clinics that name the method on their own site.
Norwood stages and graft use in published cases
For male hair loss, the Norwood scale runs from I (none) through VII (only a band remaining at the back and sides). In two published series, surgeons used these graft counts in practice. They are not a price estimate for your scalp.
| Norwood stage | Grafts used | Men |
|---|---|---|
| II | 500–1,000 | 15 |
| III | 1,000–1,800 | 63 |
| IV | 1,500–3,300 | 67 |
| V | 1,500–4,000 | 13 |
In Wang et al., BMC Surgery 2024, table 2, the source covers 158 men treated with FUE.
| Stage V–VII, area covered | Average grafts | Men |
|---|---|---|
| Front only | 2,982 | 308 |
| Front and mid-scalp | 4,164 | 352 |
| Crown only | 2,770 | 24 |
| Full coverage | 6,237 | 100 |
Source: 820 men at stage V–VII, Chouhan et al., J Cutan Aesthet Surg 2019, table 2.
Norwood stage alone does not determine the graft count. In one study, measurements of the bald areas showed that two men with Norwood 3V needed 3,900 and 6,150 grafts (Pittella et al., 2024). Before your scalp is measured, any quote is a guess.
Five details to settle before booking
- Ask who handles each step, including making incisions, taking grafts and placing them. Get the names first. Then check each person with your state medical board, or check every state at once on DocInfo.
- Request a written plan with the graft count, target zones and price for that number.
- Ask to view patients from the clinic at 12 months, using the same light and angle. Most people notice results after six to nine months, while some see them at 12 (AAD).
- Find out what happens with poor growth. Ask whether a second session is included and how long that offer lasts.
- For your first year, price follow-up visits, travel, time off work, medicine, and the procedure.
