Published hair transplant prices in New Jersey, grouped by graft band
Each of 4 clinics in New Jersey lists a hair transplant price on its own site. Every clinic is counted only once in each row, using the lowest price listed for that row. It may appear in several rows.
| What the clinic prices | Clinics | Median | Middle of the range |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price per graft | 1 | $3.99 | $3.99 |
| Package of 1,501–2,500 grafts | 1 | $25,000 | $25,000 |
| Package of 2,501–3,500 grafts | 1 | $25,000 | $25,000 |
| Package of 3,501–5,000 grafts | 1 | $30,000 | $30,000 |
| Package, graft count not stated | 3 | $4,400 | $4,000–$10,000 |
Each clinic’s own pages were used to capture prices in the clinic’s own words. The figures are in US dollars, using European Central Bank reference rates on November 3, 2026. “Middle of the range” covers the middle half of the clinics. If fewer than four publish prices, it shows the full range. A package may include hotel and transfers; each profile uses its clinic’s own wording. ECB rates.

Methods and how many local clinics offer them
| Method | Clinics | How grafts are taken | Donor area afterwards |
|---|---|---|---|
| FUE | 12 | One small round punch takes each follicular unit separately | Small dot scars appear across the donor area without a line |
| Sapphire FUE | 2 | The clinic’s own term for FUE, which uses sapphire-tipped blades to make the recipient cuts | As FUE |
| DHI | 2 | The clinic’s own term for FUE, which places grafts with an implanter pen | As FUE |
| FUT | 8 | Under a microscope, a removed strip of scalp is cut into units | The procedure leaves one linear scar, which hair above it usually hides |
| Robotic | 2 | FUE with a robot-guided punch | As FUE |
No linear scar in the donor area remains after FUE, and crusts usually disappear by day 7–10 (Front Med 2026 overview). Advanced FUE cases numbered 820, with an average scalp harvest of 2,956 grafts per case (Chouhan 2019). These counts represent only clinics included here whose own sites name the method.
Published cases and the graft counts used by Norwood stage
Male hair loss is graded on the Norwood scale, from I (none) to VII (a band at the back and sides is all that remains). Two published series show the graft counts surgeons actually used; they are not a quote for your scalp.
| Norwood stage | Grafts used | Men |
|---|---|---|
| II | 500–1,000 | 15 |
| III | 1,000–1,800 | 63 |
| IV | 1,500–3,300 | 67 |
| V | 1,500–4,000 | 13 |

| Stage V–VII, area covered | Average grafts | Men |
|---|---|---|
| Front only | 2,982 | 308 |
| Front and mid-scalp | 4,164 | 352 |
| Crown only | 2,770 | 24 |
| Full coverage | 6,237 | 100 |
Source: 820 men at stage V–VII, Chouhan et al., J Cutan Aesthet Surg 2019, table 2.
The stage by itself does not determine the count. In one study, two men at Norwood 3V needed 3,900 and 6,150 grafts after their bald areas were measured (Pittella et al., 2024). Any quote given before your scalp is measured is only a guess.
Five details to settle before booking
- Find out who handles each step, including the incisions, graft removal and graft placement. Get the names, then verify each one through your state medical board or check every state at once on DocInfo.
- Request a written plan that gives the graft count, target zones and price for that count.
- Ask to see that clinic’s own patients at 12 months, under the same light and angle. Results appear for most people at six to nine months, while some notice them at 12 (AAD).
- If growth is poor, ask whether a second session is included and how long it remains available.
- In your first-year price, include travel, time off work, medicine, follow-up visits and the procedure.
