Seattle: published hair transplant prices by graft band
On their own site, 2 clinics in Seattle list a hair transplant price. In each row, a clinic is counted once, using the lowest price it lists for that row. A clinic can show up in more than one row.
| What the clinic prices | Clinics | Median | Middle of the range |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price per graft | 1 | $4.50 | $4.50 |
| Package, graft count not stated | 1 | $5,000 | $5,000 |
Each clinic's own pages state the prices in its own wording. The figures are in US dollars, converted using European Central Bank reference rates for November 3, 2026. The middle half of the clinics makes up the “middle of the range.” If fewer than four publish, it covers the full range instead. Hotel and transfers may be part of a package; each profile shows the clinic's own wording. ECB rates.
Use the cost calculator to check the range of published prices based on your own graft count in the United States.

Methods, and how many of these clinics offer each one
| Method | Clinics | How grafts are taken | Donor area afterwards |
|---|---|---|---|
| FUE | 10 | Each follicular unit is removed on its own using a small, round punch. | Small dot scars are spread over the donor area, and no linear scar appears. |
| Sapphire FUE | 0 | The clinic’s name for FUE using sapphire-tipped blades to make recipient cuts | As FUE |
| DHI | 0 | The clinic’s name for FUE using an implanter pen to place grafts | As FUE |
| FUT | 7 | Scalp tissue removed in a strip and divided into units under a microscope | A single linear scar, usually covered by hair above it |
| Robotic | 0 | FUE with a robot-guided punch | As FUE |
With FUE, there is no linear scar on the donor area, and by day 7–10 the crusts are usually gone (Front Med 2026 review). Across 820 advanced FUE cases, scalp harvest averaged 2,956 grafts for each case (Chouhan 2019). A clinic counts here if its own site names the method.
Norwood stages and graft counts from published cases
Graded on the Norwood scale, male hair loss runs from I (none) through to VII, where only a band remains at the back and sides. Surgeons in two published series actually used these graft counts. They are not a quote for your scalp.
| Norwood stage | Grafts used | Men |
|---|---|---|
| II | 500–1,000 | 15 |
| III | 1,000–1,800 | 63 |
| IV | 1,500–3,300 | 67 |
| V | 1,500–4,000 | 13 |
Source: Wang et al., BMC Surgery 2024, table 2: 158 men treated with FUE.
| Stage V–VII, area covered | Average grafts | Men |
|---|---|---|
| Front only | 2,982 | 308 |
| Front and mid-scalp | 4,164 | 352 |
| Crown only | 2,770 | 24 |
| Full coverage | 6,237 | 100 |
Source: 820 men at stage V–VII, Chouhan et al., J Cutan Aesthet Surg 2019, table 2.
The stage on its own does not set the number. In one study, two men rated Norwood 3V needed 3,900 and 6,150 grafts after their bald areas were measured (Pittella et al., 2024), so any quote offered before your scalp is measured is only a guess.
Five points to settle before booking
- Ask who handles each step: the incisions, taking the grafts, placing them. After getting each name, check it with your state medical board or search every state at once through DocInfo.
- Ask for a plan in writing. It should list graft numbers, zones, and the price of that count.
- Ask the clinic to show you its own patients at 12 months, under the same light and angle. Results appear for most people between six and nine months, and for some at 12 months, according to the AAD.
- Poor growth is a question worth raising: ask if a second session is included and up to when.
- Price the whole first year: medicine, travel and time off work, plus the procedure and follow-up visits.
