Hair transplant prices published in Tampa, by graft band
On their own website, 5 Tampa clinics publish a hair transplant price. A clinic is counted once in each row, using the lowest price it lists for that row. The same clinic can show up in more than one row.
| What the clinic prices | Clinics | Median | Middle of the range |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price per graft | 2 | $2.67 | $2.50–$2.85 |
| Package of up to 1,500 grafts | 1 | $2,500 | $2,500 |
| Package of 2,501–3,500 grafts | 1 | $3,750 | $3,750 |
| Package, graft count not stated | 4 | $3,950 | $2,750–$5,600 |
Each price was taken from the clinic's own pages, in the clinic's own wording. Conversion to US dollars used European Central Bank reference rates dated November 3, 2026. By "Middle of the range" we mean the middle half of those clinics. When fewer than four publish, it covers the full range. Hotel and transfers may be part of a package; each clinic's own wording appears on its profile. ECB rates.

Methods, and how many clinics here offer each one
| Method | Clinics | How grafts are taken | Donor area afterwards |
|---|---|---|---|
| FUE | 10 | One at a time, each single follicular unit is taken with a small round punch. | Dot scars are small and spread across the donor area, with no line. |
| Sapphire FUE | 2 | The clinic's own term for FUE, where sapphire-tipped blades make the recipient cuts. | As FUE |
| DHI | 0 | The clinic's own term for FUE, where an implanter pen places the grafts. | As FUE |
| FUT | 8 | A strip of scalp taken out, then cut into units under a microscope | A single linear scar, usually hidden by the hair above it |
| Robotic | 2 | FUE with a robot-guided punch | As FUE |
With FUE, there is no linear scar in the donor area, and by day 7–10 the crusts have usually cleared (Front Med 2026 review). Advanced FUE cases in a series of 820 showed an average scalp harvest of 2,956 grafts per case (Chouhan 2019). Only clinics that name the method on their own site are counted here.
Published cases by Norwood stage, with the grafts they took
The Norwood scale runs from I (none) to VII (a band only at the back and sides), and it grades male hair loss. Two published series show the graft counts surgeons really used. They are not a quote for your scalp.
| Norwood stage | Grafts used | Men |
|---|---|---|
| II | 500–1,000 | 15 |
| III | 1,000–1,800 | 63 |
| IV | 1,500–3,300 | 67 |
| V | 1,500–4,000 | 13 |

| Stage V–VII, area covered | Average grafts | Men |
|---|---|---|
| Front only | 2,982 | 308 |
| Front and mid-scalp | 4,164 | 352 |
| Crown only | 2,770 | 24 |
| Full coverage | 6,237 | 100 |
Source: 820 men at stage V–VII, Chouhan et al., J Cutan Aesthet Surg 2019, table 2.
The stage on its own does not set the number. After the bald area of two men graded Norwood 3V was measured, they needed 3,900 and 6,150 grafts in one study (Pittella et al., 2024). Any quote given before that step is a guess.
Five details to confirm before booking
- Ask who handles each step: making incisions, removing grafts, and placing them. Ask for the names, then look up each one on your state medical board. You can also check all states together on DocInfo.
- Ask for a plan in writing: the graft count, the zones, and what that count costs.
- Ask to see that clinic’s patients at 12 months, under the same lighting and from the same angle. Results show up for most people at six to nine months, and for some at 12 (AAD).
- If growth is poor, ask whether a second session is included and how long that offer lasts.
- Add up everything in the first year: travel, time off work, medicine, follow-up visits and the procedure.
