Published hair transplant pricing in Virginia Beach by graft band
On their own site, 3 clinics in Virginia Beach list a price for a hair transplant. For each row, a clinic is counted once using the lowest price it lists for that row. The same clinic may appear in several rows.
| What the clinic prices | Clinics | Median | Middle of the range |
|---|---|---|---|
| Package of 1,501–2,500 grafts | 1 | $6,000 | $6,000 |
| Package, graft count not stated | 3 | $4,400 | $4,400–$6,000 |
Each clinic presents prices in the wording used on its own pages. We recorded them in US dollars at European Central Bank reference rates from November 3, 2026. The middle half of the clinics makes up “Middle of the range.” If fewer than four clinics publish prices, it shows the full range. A package may cover hotel and transfers, with each clinic’s profile showing its own wording. ECB rates.
For the graft count you need in United States, the cost calculator shows the published price range.

Methods here, and how many clinics offer each one
| Method | Clinics | How grafts are taken | Donor area afterwards |
|---|---|---|---|
| FUE | 5 | One follicular unit at a time, taken with a small round punch. | Dot scars that are small, spread over the donor area with no line. |
| Sapphire FUE | 0 | The clinic’s term for FUE using sapphire-tipped blades to make recipient cuts | As FUE |
| DHI | 0 | The clinic’s term for FUE using an implanter pen to place grafts | As FUE |
| FUT | 5 | Removing a strip of scalp, then dividing it into units under a microscope | A single linear scar, usually covered by the hair above it |
| Robotic | 0 | FUE with a robot-guided punch | As FUE |
With FUE there is no linear donor scar, and by day 7–10 crusts usually clear (Front Med 2026 review). Across 820 advanced FUE cases, scalp harvest averaged 2,956 grafts per case (Chouhan 2019). These counts include only local clinics whose own sites name the method.
Published cases linking Norwood stage with graft use
The Norwood scale rates male hair loss from I through VII. I means no loss, while VII means a band of hair left only around the back and sides. Two published series show the graft counts surgeons actually used. They are not quotes for your scalp.
| Norwood stage | Grafts used | Men |
|---|---|---|
| II | 500–1,000 | 15 |
| III | 1,000–1,800 | 63 |
| IV | 1,500–3,300 | 67 |
| V | 1,500–4,000 | 13 |

| Stage V–VII, area covered | Average grafts | Men |
|---|---|---|
| Front only | 2,982 | 308 |
| Front and mid-scalp | 4,164 | 352 |
| Crown only | 2,770 | 24 |
| Full coverage | 6,237 | 100 |

The stage by itself does not determine the number. In one study, two men with Norwood 3V needed 3,900 and 6,150 grafts after their bald areas were measured (Pittella et al., 2024). Any quote offered before your scalp is measured is only a guess.
Five points to settle before booking
- Ask who handles each step, from making the incisions to taking and placing the grafts. Get the names first. Then check them on your state medical board, or check every state at once on DocInfo.
- Request a written plan that lists the graft count, target zones and price for that number.
- Ask the clinic to show its own patients at 12 months, using the same lighting and angles. Results appear after six to nine months for most people, while some take 12 (AAD).
- Ask whether a second session is included if growth is poor, and how long that offer lasts.
- Price the whole first year: time off work, travel, follow-up visits, medicine and the procedure.
